Gladys Marie Hrzenak

Gladys was born in Anaheim, CA on May 26th, 1930, to Evans Boyd and Esther Victoria McClintock. She had an extensive extended family which she loved with pride. Four children: Joe, Bob, Diane and Annie. Eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and an abundance of nieces and nephews. She was preceded on her journey to heaven by her ex-husband Joseph Hrzenak Sr. and her three sisters Mary, Lou, and Dorothy.

She always had a nice smile for everyone she met! She also had an affinity for ‘Garage sales’, both visiting and doing her own, often with Annie. She loved the Lord Jesus, Christmas, puppies, scrabble, and bingo, and she had a wicked sense of humor!

Unfortunately, her life was turned upside down in the last few years as she suffered from dementia. She was liked and loved by all her family and many friends. She will be missed, but Heaven is better than her ‘dementia world’ here on earth.

Considering her fondness for dogs, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, a donation to 'Wayside Waifs' (or an animal shelter of your choice) or to St. Croix Hospice in Gladys Hrzenak’s name, be made. All donations would be appreciated.

An intimate family crypt-side prayer session placing her ashes will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

A celebration of her life with family and friends will be held at St. Marks United Methodist Church located at 6422 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS on Aug. 13th, 2022, from 11 am – 1pm.
