Hai Thi Burton

Hai Thi Burton of Riverside, Missouri, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on Saturday, June 6, 2020. Hai was born in Saigon, Vietnam. She moved to the United States with then husband Robert in 1973 and resided in Kansas City before moving to Isfahan, Iran. She returned with her family to the United States where she lived in Independence, Missouri, for 27 years. Hai lived out the remainder of her life in Riverside.

Hai worked hard to provide for her children and ensure they received a quality education. She loved to garden and would spend hours working on and sitting by her Koi pond. Although she never drove, Hai had a license in backseat driving and enjoyed walking. Hai also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially when she could cut their hair. She will be greatly missed.

Hai was predeceased by her mother, father and brother. She is survived by her daughter Loan Thi Lieu, son Long Van Lieu (Nga Bach Tran), daughter Kim Cleveland (Harvey Cleveland), son Ha Burton (Joyce Burton), son Sang Burton (Christy Burton), daughter Kim Burton, nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday June 11th at 2:00 PM at the Historic Amour Chapel, located inside the Elmwood Cemetery. Funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM.
