She spent most of her career busting her ass saving lives as a Registered Nurse on the night shift in the emergency room at Bethany Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas and still managed to pick her kids up from Taco Bell when they were too tired to walk home. She didn’t have hobbies because she worked 12-hour shifts and she hated parent-teacher conferences because they interrupted her sleep schedule. She was often awakened by her daughters and their neighborhood friends playing rambunctiously, making a mess in the kitchen, or beating each other up. She had the patience of Job. She did find time to immerse herself in Harlequin romance novels, crocheting and watching Wheel of Fortune. Once her kids were grown, she focused her energy on spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She quickly became their snack monitor and nursed them when they were sick. Taking care of people was her thing and she was great at it!
There are many family members that will continue her legacy including her three daughters: Dr Christina Alba, Tracey Goold and Dawn Huffmaster, their fabulous men, along with their gaggle of children and grandchildren.
Her family finds peace in knowing that she is no longer in pain and will be greeted in Heaven by her Heavenly Father, her parents (Charles and Dorothy Hollingsworth), two brothers (Raymond and Michael Hollingsworth) and a grandchild (Kaylie Clay).
Family and friends can say their goodbyes at a private viewing on Tuesday, May 24th from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Complete Cremation & Funeral Service in Harrisonville, MO.
She will be escorted by her daughters in a chariot to be laid to rest in her hometown of Gillett, Arkansas where she was born and raised.
