Sharon Rose Kennedy (née McMahan), 75, passed away on March 20, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Born on May 9, 1949, at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, Sharon spent her early years living around the world. She had fond memories of living in England and Brazil. She learned to speak Portuguese while attending school in Rio De Janeiro. As a teen her family returned to St. Louis, Missouri. She attended Roosevelt High School from 1963 to 1965 before graduating from Mehlville High School in 1967. She later pursued further education at Jefferson College.

Sharon was a devoted wife and a loving mother whose warmth and humor left a lasting impression on those around her. Her quick wit kept conversations lively, always bringing laughter to those fortunate enough to know her. She had a deep bond with her son Scott, speaking with him every day.

A talented writer and artist, Sharon found joy in sketching and painting, expressing herself through creativity. She also had a passion for jewelry-making and repair, always eager to learn about new styles and beauty trends. She enjoyed being a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. Whether indulging in margaritas or enjoying a relaxing pedicure, she embraced life’s simple pleasures with enthusiasm.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Kennedy; her daughter, Tami Renee Cummings; her grandson, Christopher Grothe; her father, Lt. Col. Charles McMahan (Patricia); and her mother, Rose Marie Taylor (Earl).

She is survived by her sons, James Cummings (Beverly) and Donald "Scott" Cummings (Lisa); grandchildren Kayla Stolle (Devon), Jami Williams, Kaitlynn Cummings, and Jordan Cummings; as well as great-grandchildren Dexton and Broxon Stolle and Brayden, Cale, and Jackson Williams.

Honoring Sharon’s wishes, there will not be a formal service. She was an organ donor, reflecting her generous spirit even beyond life. Cremation services were provided by Complete Cremation and Funeral Services in Harrisonville, Missouri. In memory of Sharon, donations may be made to Belton Cares.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
