Stephen Paul Cooper, 83, of Lee’s Summit, Mo passed away on July 21, 2024.

He was born on December 2, 1940 in Kansas City, Mo, to the late Stephen Stanley and Vernia

Louise (Boyd) Cooper.

Stephen was a graduate of North Kansas City High School where he excelled in football and

baseball. He worked full time at Lenger Chevrolet in sales while attending Central Missouri

State University in Warrensburg, Mo. He proudly graduated in 1962 with a degree in business

administration as the first one in his family to graduate from college.

He married his college sweetheart, JoAnn Clark on November 22, 1964. They had two sons, Jon

and Chris Cooper.

After college he started his career with TWA airlines. Shortly after, he entered the medical sales

world and continued a career in that industry until retirement.

He married Debra Stocklaufer on October 19, 2001.

Throughout his life he enjoyed the outdoors, especially time at Lake Of The Ozarks. He not only

loved watching sports, but also coaching his sons in baseball. He loved fishing and spending

time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son (Jon Cooper), sister (Barbara Cooper Yezierski),

and niece (Jacqueline Dufoe).

Steve is survived by his son Chris; wife Jeana; Grandchildren Jay and Cannon Cooper;

daughter-in-law Shannon Cooper, Brother Dennis; wife Margaret; nephews Brett Cooper and

Dustin Dufoe; Debra Cooper and her family; Close friends Steve Burmeister and Kent Sinnett as

well as many friends at Wilshire Hills where he lived since 2022.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant Hill Health and Rehabilitation for the

amazing care and support provided in the last month.

A private service will be held at a later date.
